Elder Abuse Training
At Euro American Homecare, we continue to provide monthly training for all caregivers! Our last training session was on July 25th, 2019, in our Berlin office. Eva Szura, our Client Manager, did a great job of educating our attendees about “Elder Abuse”.
Caregivers learned about the different types of abuse, the risks, and how to prevent it from happening. This training raised awareness with our caregivers and equipped them with ways to identify the different types of elder abuse and what to do. Sometimes people notice that their client is either being abused financially, physically, or even mentally. But sadly, not all of those signs are being reported. “
If you see something, do something”, was our motto for the day. The statistics show that less than 1 in 14 abuse cases are reported and that 60% of the time, the perpetrator is a family member. We also heard some of the caregivers’ personal stories about their clients and how they reacted to those types of situations.
