Caregiver Of The Month – August

Euro American Homecare‘s caregiver of the month for August is Lucy Torres!

Lucy has been with Euro American Homecare for over 10 years and is devoted caregiving professional. The majority of her clients have been in her care for long terms. This is due to her diligent and compassionate approach when caring for her clients.

Lucy always finds solutions to her clients’ issues. She recently had a client who showed signs of instability after being released from the hospital. Lucy advised the family that it would be best if the client started exercising to improve his mobility. She wasted no time by taking the client out for short walks to the park to get his heart rate going. She then suggested that his family buy him a stationary bike so that he could stretch his leg muscles during the colder climate.

Lucy did not stop there, she made sure that her client was able to thrive in his own home and not get readmitted to the hospital. After encouraging him to do those brief but effective exercises, the client’s condition improved greatly and he started to feel like himself again. In most cases that would have been enough, but not for Lucy! She brought him fresh fruit and vegetables to improve his vitamin intake. His family recognized and appreciated Lucy’s diligent and compassionate care for their loved ones.

Another family member of one of Lucy’s previous clients stated; “My aunt suffered from very bad dementia and hallucinations, and at times was quite difficult to cope with, but Lucy showed amazing perseverance in dealing with her many physical ailments.” We appreciate what you do and your commitment Lucy! You are truly one of a kind!
