You’ve probably heard the saying that time, not money, is your most valuable asset. So as we head into a new year, it’s important that we all don’t take these next months for granted, and treasure the unique moments that make life so special.

Here are a few reminders you can look to as you set goals and resolutions that will hopefully steer you to a prosperous new year!

Believe and Empower Yourself

As we age, something that happens is that we develop emotionally and can move on from the “what-ifs” in life. Guess what? You achieved some great things in 2018, so don’t be think you must start fresh and are working with a clean slate. Use this past year as a stepping stone in your life that helped you achieve new goals, make new friends, and grow as a person. This new year is the start of something even greater than what you’ve been through last year.

Learn from mistakes, and make new ones

Based on what happened in 2018, especially the downfalls, you can head into this year more prepared to handle similar situations. What’s great is that the biggest life lessons stem from difficult, sad and truly painful moments.

Try new things

Whether it’s a new fashion trend, diet or exercise plan, a new spa or salon that opened, or something really crazy like a major haircut or international vacation, make this year the year you try at least one new, slightly crazy or out of the box thing. Who knows, you might just discover a new side of yourself.

Prioritize friends and family often

Oftentimes we only get to spend some quality time with friends and family during the holidays. This year, prioritize your relationships and plan an outing, dinner, even sleepover whenever you can with those you love. If you have friends and family that live far away, try giving them a Skype or Facetime call once in a while and do something fun, like workout together or celebrate a birthday by singing to them. Time is precious, so make sure you don’t take your loved ones for granted and wait for them to reach out to you. Take initiative!
