It’s a new year, which means it’s a new you! Right? One of the most important meals of the day is breakfast, yet many of us might avoid making smoothies during the cold winter months and are missing out on the amazing ways it can boost your vitamin and nutrient intake, especially by adding heart-healthy fruits and veggies.

Here are five recipes we’ve tried and are loving right now that you can use and introduce to your family, client and loved one!

Banana Chia Smoothie

Courtesy of Navitas Organics, this smoothie is rich in vitamins and minerals, including the energy-boosting maca root power. Dates and cinnamon make for a tasty flavor, and

  • 1 1/2 medium-sized frozen Bananas
  • A handful of Spinach
  • 2 Tbsp Peanut Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 tsp Maca Powder
  • 1 cup Coconut Water
  • 1 cup Cashew Milk
  • 2 Dates, pitted
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Ice Cubes

 

Tropical Acai Smoothie

Acai is a type of berry that is packed with antioxidants, heart-healthy fats, calcium, and fiber, which makes it a favorite addition to any smoothie. Try this easy recipe from Chobani, and find acai powder online or in health food stores near you!

  • 1/2 cup Chobani® Vanilla Blended Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup mixed berries
  • 1/2 cup coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon açaí powder

Green Grape Smoothie

This recipe packs healthy simple carbohydrates found in fruits like grapes and pears, as well as superfood spinach, kale and oranges rich in Vitamins C, A, K and more, which makes this smoothie not just health and delicious, but enough to sustain you with hours of energy thanks to an extra boost of chia seeds!   • 1 Bartlett pear – core, stem and seeds removed

  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 cups ice

Very Berry Energy Smoothie

This recipe is one of our favorite and very easy to make! It features avocado and fresh mixed berries, plus a banana and spinach, topped off with almond milk, flaxseed meal and almond butter. Not a single ingredient in this great recipe should go unnoticed, as even the cinnamon helps power your heart!   • 1/2 cup Unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 2 cups frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed meal

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
